Join us this month for a chat with Joyce Boatright, the newly appointed OWL director for Story Circle Network. Joyce will update listeners on how the OWL project has evolved. OWL is an acronym for the Older Women’s Legacy memoir project, which was developed to help women share the stories of their lives. Originally funded in the 1990’s by the Sister of Charity of Incarnate Word and sponsored by Story Circle Network, over 500 women met in workshops with trained facilitators to write their stories. That effort resulted in a publication entitled With Courage and Common Sense: Memoirs from the Older Women’s Legacy Circles. The grant part of the project is over, but the mission of guiding women to tell the stories of their lives continues. Find more about OWL at this link: http://www.storycircle.org/owlcircle/ Tune in and listen to your Story Circle sisters! We love to hear from you!
