Join me for a recap of 2007 on the SCN podcast. I put together the best of the advice our guests gave us this year on what life writing is, how to get started, how to beat writer's block, and how to get the most out of your SCN writing circle experience.

We have a slightly shorter episode this month as we reset our publication schedule. Instead of publishing in the middle of the month, we're going to start posting new episodes at the first of the month. But that doesn't mean this isn't a great episode! I'll fill you in on some upcoming events and opportunities in the Story Circle Network, and Story of the Month author Joyce Boatright reads her story, Circles, Threads, and the Webs We Weave. Now you can listen to the Story Circle Network podcast over your phone by dialing 831-480-3977. I hope this is helpful for those of you with dial-up connections. But long distance charges apply, so be careful if you pay long distance by the minute! Question of the month: how did you find Story Circle Network and what impact has that had on you? Give us a call at 641-985-5999, ext 19212. Don't forget! If you answer our question of the month or offer other feedback, you're entered into a drawing for a Story Circle goodie! Just leave a comment on the podcast site or call in to our listener line. We look forward to hearing from you! May's episode is all about writing circles: what they are, why they're essential, and how to get the most from them. Joining me to lend her expertise is Sister Mary Sullivan, facilitator of eCircle #8 in the SCN Internet Chapter. Mary has spent almost 50 years leading retreats and facilitating writers.
Our Story of the Month is "Childhood Artifacts" by SCN board member Lisa Shirah-Hiers. Welcome to April! After being on hiatus for March (to be able to attend the SCN LifeLines retreat in Texas) we have a very full show for you! Join me as I chat with Megan Potter, a life coach who believes that the key to a creative life is living with abundance and authenticity. And sometimes our biggest creative breakthroughs are not necessarily in learning to write, but in learning to live.
We also have two stories of the month from Sister Mary Sullivan and Claudia Ewers. The music is All In One Day by Eileen Meyer. It's a great episode, so I hope you'll listen! |

Join Susan Wittig Albert and me as several of the contributing authors read their selections from the anthology. This is an episode you don't want to miss! Listeners who contribute anecdotes or feedback are entered into a monthly drawing. This month's winner, Marcy Meffert from Leon Valley, Texas, gets a signed copy of Joyce Murray Boatright's "Telling Your Story: A Basic Guide to Memoir Writing." If you'd like to be entered in the drawing for next month, take a few minutes to call our listener line and tell us why you write. That number is 641-985-5999 ext 19212#. Happy listening, and happy writing! |
